UP govt hikes UPPCL employees retirement age from 58 to 60 yrs
Lucknow, Dec 11 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today decided to increase the retirement age of UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) employees from the existing 58 years to 60 years.
The decision was taken at the State Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav here.
The the two year age hike would benefit over 58,000 employees of the UPPCL.
In another decision, the government decided to create the new UP Secretriat Catering Corporation out of the Rajya Kalyan Nigam and authorised it to take the catering and food supply contract for private parties. The government's decision will to bail out the Nigam which was facing acute financial crisis leading to non-payment of salaries to its employees regularly.
The government also approved the molasses policy for the next financial year and gave its nod for appointment of 322 professors and readers in Ayurveda and Unani colleges on contract basis.
The Cabinet also gave its approval for 10 per cent rebate on Khadi cotton and woollen garments sold through the Khadi Gram Yodyog shops.
