Two killed, two injured in road mishap

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Dec 11 (UNI) Two people were killed on the spot and two seriously injured when they were run over by a van near Kelambakkam in this district.

Police said the mishap occurred when four labourers, working in a crusher at Nallambakkam near Kelambakkam were hit by a van proceeding to Vandalur from Kelambakkam while they were walking on the road after watching a movie in a theatre late last night.

The deceased were identified as Settu (21) and Sarkarai(55). The injured Jaya (22) and Virudhambal(40) were admitted to the Government General Hospital at Chennai.

Efforts were on to nab the van driver, police said.
