Tributes paid to Subramaniya Bharathi in Puducherry

Puducherry, Dec 11 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to revolutionary Tamil poet Subramaniya Bharathi on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary here today.

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan, legislators and senior officials were among others, who garlanded the statue of the poet at the Bharathi Park here.

Members of several literary organisations, including the ''Tamil Sangham'' also garlanded the statue.

The Puducherry Munnetra Congress(PMC) volunteers led by the party legislators K Lakshminarayanan and Anand paid floral tributes to the poet at the party headquarters.
