Siddaramaiah takes oath as member of the Kar Legislative Assembly

Bangalore, Dec 11 (UNI) Congress leader Siddaramaiah, who recently won in the Chamundeshwari Assembly byelection, today said he will file a petition with the Election Commission against electoral malpractice by ruling Janata Dal (Secular).

He was talking to newsmen after taking the oath as the member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Speaker Krishna administered the oath to the member in presence of a large number of party leaders and supporters including Opposition Leader N Dharam Singh and state party Chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

Mr Siddaramaiah said his victory was a moral success and he would continue his fight against the state government. While Dharam Singh praised the Election Commission for deftly handling the situation during the byelection, Mr Kharge observed that the JD(S) should accept the defeat and respect the people's verdict in the byelection.
