Salgaocar sans Okonji, Prakash for Federation Cup

Panaji, Dec 11 (UNI) Salgaocar Sports Club's Nigerian striker Patrick Okonji and R C Prakash will not play for their side in the forthcoming Federation cup football tournament, getting underway from December 18 to December 30 in Kolkata.

The Salgaocar club team manager Mr Sanjiv Nagvekar told UNI that Okonji sustained a major fracture on the right leg yesterday when his team was practising with another local team Churchill Brothers at Tilak ground, Vasco da Gama,in south Goa. As Doctors advised Okonji three months rest, he will not not go with the team for the Federation cup.

He said another forward R C Prakash, who is nursing his injury, will also not join the team.

Salgaocar will play their first match agaist JCT on December 19.

The Team will leave for Kolkata on December 16.
