President to inaugurate Suttur Mutt Founder's jayanthi celebration

Mysore, Dec 11 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam will inaugurate the 1047th jayanthi celebrations of Adi Jagadguru Shivartheswara Bhagavathpadaru, Founder of Suttur Srikshetra, in Bangalore on December 18.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Celebrations Committee President V Somanna, MLA, said the celebrations would be held for the first time outside this district. Thousands of devotes of Suttur mutt would take part in the week-long celebrations.

Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa would also take part in the inaugural function.

During the celebrations, eminent experts from various parts of the country would discuss various subjects like 'Vachanakararu and Kuvempu', national integration, religious integration, society and culture, effects of globalisation on society and culture, feminist concern in vachana literature and roots of harmony, he said.
