Opposition forces adjournment of the house till lunch recess
Patna, Dec 11 (UNI) Agitated over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, opposition members of the state legislative council forced the adjournment of the proceeding of the house till lunch recess today.
Soon after the proceeding of the house began, members of RJD, Congress, LJP, CPI and CPI(M) raised slogans venting their ire on poor law and order situation in the state and failure of the state government to tighten the noose of bureaucrats.
Members were also displaying the placards inscribed with anti government slogans.
Congress member Ms Jyoti jumped on the table of the governments reporter and started raising slogans demanding safety and security of the women. RJD members-- Nawal Kishore Yadav, Badsah Prasad Azad, Bhim Singh, Ms Geeta Devi, Azad Gandhi and Congress member Mahachandra Singh, CPI member Usha Sahni, CPI member Basudeo Singh were also raising anti governmemt slogans.
Earlier, opposition members were raising slogans to protest the failure of the government to check crime. Some playcards were about the demand of the opposition for CBI inquiry into the killing of Prof Papiya Ghosh who was gunned down by the criminals at her residence in Patna recently.
When opposition members did not pay any heed to the repeated requests of the Chairman Prof Arun kumar, he adjourned the proceeding of the house till the lunch recess of the day.
