Night curfew in Kashmir border areas

Srinagar, Dec 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today decided to extend the night curfew in the entire border district of Kupwara for another 60 days to check incursions and activities of militants in the wake of closure of infiltration routes due to heavy snowfall on the upper reaches since last month.

An official spokesman said the District Magistrate, Kupwara also extended the imposition of prohibitory orders (section 144) for two more months.

However, the order would not apply to the personnel associated with essential and emergency services besides the security personnel, he added.
