Munde to North Indians, repeat the UP victories here
Mumbai, Dec 11 (UNI) BJP's former Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde has said the Sena-BJP alliance never targeted the people of North and others living here, rather they assisted them to integrate in the city.
Mr Munde, addressing mediapersons at a function held to felicitate the newly elected BJP Mayors from Uttar Pradesh, here, yesterday, said the BJP-Sena alliance had always helped the Hindi speaking people and has nominated a lot of them as office bearers in various capacities in the BJP due to their service and loyalty to the party.
Taking a dig at the ruling NCP-Congress regime for not having a single Minister of the Hindi origin in the present Cabinet, Mr Munde assured that if the BJP-Sena is voted back to power, ''North Indians will see many ministers of their background in the Government.'' On the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme (SRS), he blasted the state government for misguiding the slum dwellers of their status and for constantly changing the rules of SRS schemes thereby creating confusion.
Further, he claimed ''the BJP-Sena alliance during its rule had initiated the process of regularising homes of the slum dwellers, which had come up till 1995, and had also campaigned to regularise slums constructed till 2001. But the Congress again played dirty creating chaos and confusion among the dwellers.'' Mr Munde said people in Uttar Pradesh have already brought a sea change in the UP politics by electing eight BJP Mayors in the recent polls.
Earlier, he along with Kesrinath Tiwari, President of the Uttar Pradesh BJP, jointly felicitated the new Mayor of Lucknow, Dr Dinesh Sharma, Mayor of Varanasi Kaushlendera Singh and the Mayor of Meerut, Madhu Gujjar.
