MPSID signs three MoUs in Singapore

Bhopal, Dec 11 (UNI) Three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were inked between three companies and Madhya Pradesh State Industries Corporation (MPSID) in Singapore today.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the second day of his visit to Singapore, an official release here said.

Mr Chouhan, who attended a high-level interactive meet organised by the Singapore Business Federation, held detailed discussions with business delegates.

He also invited NRIs and industries for the business meet being organised in Khajuraho on January 16-17 and 'Destination Madhya Pradesh' scheduled to be held in the state capital on October 2007.

The first MoU -- between the MPSID and ECU HOLD NV, a company incorporated in Belgium dealing in logistics and cargo handling with a worldwide presence -- was for establishing a container freight station/inland container deport/bonded warehouse and similar projects in Pithampur near Indore.

Company Chairman Shashikiran Shetty and MPSID Managing Director Praveen Garg signed the MoU.

The service spectrum provided by the company covers multi-model transport operations, port-related logistics support services and handling the project cargo.

The company plans to invest over Rs 60 crore in Madhya Pradesh.

The state government had agreed to give four hectare land at concessional tariff of industrial rate.

The second MoU was signed between Global Indian Business Network Private Limited of Singapore and MPSID to establish a chain of convention centres and hotels at various locations in the state.

The third MoU was signed between Landcrop Partners Pvt Ltd and MPSID to establish various rural shopping malls, multiplexes and entertainment centres at various centres in Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister also visited Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) -- leading industrial space solutions provider. He was briefed by JTC Group President Tang Tat Kwong.

Mr Chouhan and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur also had a meeting with senior minister Goh Chok Tong at the presidential palace regarding attracting investment in the state, the release added.
