MCD puts 24 units to seal in Najafgarh zone

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi today put 24 units to seal in the Najafgarh zone.

Among the units sealed were 24 units at a stretch from Rajdhani Park to JJ Colony, Nangloi on New Rohtak Road falling in Najafgarh Zone.

With today's sealing, the total number of units put to seal by the MCD since the drive resumed on November 8 on orders of the Supreme Court is 3020.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), apex body of trading community today demanded the Union Government to dissolve DDA immediately in view of the adverse remarks made by Union Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken against it.

In a talk show at a News Channel yesterday, Mr Ajay Maken admitted of corruption in the DDA and held the body responsible for faulty planning in Delhi.

''The DDA has lost all its credentials and should be dissolved immediately without further loss of time,'' CAIT said.

The CAIT further demanded that with the utter dissatisfaction expressed by Mr Maken himself, the DDA should also be stopped from its Golden Jubilee celebrations beginning December 27 and to press for the demand, CAIT delegations will meet Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy, Mr Maken, Delhi Lieutenant Governor B L Joshi and Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and will also ask Delhi MPs to give their weightage for dissolution of DDA.

The Traders Task Force on Master Plan 2021 began its working today with holding extensive discussions with trade bodies of South Delhi wherein it was felt that shortage of parking lots and encroachment were the real issues for which the government agencies were solely responsible. The task force has advised the trade bodies to undertake localitywise and marketwise ground survey and prepare a detailed report of their respective areas.
