Kiran Choudhary hails Doha medal winners

Chandigarh, Dec 11 (UNI) Haryana Minister of State for Forests and Tourism Kiran Choudhary today lauded Vikas and Sukhbir Singh, who played a key role in winning the Gold Medal for the Indian Kabaddi team at the 15th Asian Games being held at Doha.

Congratulating the parents of the players, Ms Choudhary said it was a matter of pride for the people of Bhiwani and Haryana that the athletes from the state had helped India win the Kabaddi gold.

She said that she would personally honour the winners who brought laurels to Bhiwani and Haryana in the Asiad Games as soon as they return.

The Minister said the Haryana Chief Minister had decided to honour the Gold Medal winner in these games with Rs 10 lakh, Silver Medal winner with Rs 7 lakh and Bronze Medal winner with Rs 5 lakh.

She said this initiative would inculcate the spirit of competition among the sportspersons. It would also motivate the players to perform their best and bring laurels to the state and the country.
