HM commander among two militants killed in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 11 (UNI) A self-styled commander was among two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants killed by the security forces in an encounter in south Kashmir today, official sources said.

They said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir launched a joint operation at Tral, of Pulwama district early this morning.

However, when the security forces were sealing the area, militants opened fire and in the return fire two militants were killed.

One of the slain militants was later identified as Mohammad Shafi, a HM commander, who was 'A' category militant involved in several militancy related incidents. Two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
