Gen JJ Singh hails silver medal winning golf team

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) Indian Golf Union president and Army chief Gen J J Singh today hailed the quartet of Gaganjeet Bhullar, Joseph Chakola, Chiragh Kumar and Anirban Lahiri, who won the silver medal in the team event at the Asian Games in Doha.

''My heartiest congratulation to our young golfers on their excellent show in the Asian Games where they won the Silver medal in team event,'' Gen Singh said here today.

''It's for the first time after 1982 that we have won a medal in the team event. I am very proud of them and I am sure that golf is the game of the future,'' he added.

The Indian quartet finished second in the team event with a four-day total of 849 after rounds of 210, 211, 211 and 217.
