Former CIAO President Assad Kotaite felicitated

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corp today conferred Lifetime Achievement Award on former Council of International Civil Aviation Organisation President Assad Kotaite for his contribution to the development and evolution of world aviation and tourism.

Out of the about 60 years of ICAO's existence, Lebanon-born Dr Kotaite had served as its President for 30 years and six years as Secretary General before that.

He was regarded as the champion of 'open sky' policy being followed by various countries and successfully resolving many crises in the aviation field around the world.

Dr Kotaite was also creditted with laying down broad principles on which India's current aviation policy was based.

Our country was reaping the fruits of following the directives given by Dr Kotaite, DTTDC Chairman-cum-Managing Director Sanat Kaul said.

Secretary with Union Tourism Ministry A K Misra, Delhi Tourism Chairman Vijay Madan and Indian Association of Tour Operators President Subash Goyal were prominent among those present at the occasion.
