Dimsa delegation coming to seek ceasefire extension

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) A six-member delegation of Dimsas from the North Cachar Hills and Karbi Anglong area is coming here early next week to seek an extension of the ongoing ceasefire beyond December 31.

The DHD delegation will be led by its leader Deelip Nunisa, will meet Home Minister Shivraj Patil, sources said.

The Government-offered ceasefire to the underground militant organisation ''Dima Haulim Dagao'' (DHD) for maintaining peace and law and order situation in that part of the State, comes to an end on December 31.

The Government is keen on bringing on all the underground militant organisations in the North Eastern Region to the mainstream by asking them to surrender the arms and come for peace talks, the sources added.
