Chinese envoy calls on Haryana CM

Chandigarh, Dec 11: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said while the 20th century belonged to Europe, the 21st century belonged to Asia, especially India and China.

The Chief Minister was interacting with Chinese Ambassador Sun Yuxi who called on him here.

Mr Hooda said India would become second or third economic power in the world in next 10 years. He said the recent visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to India had changed the outlook of relations between the two countries.

Mr Sun said China was now looking forward to having more cooperation between the two states.

He said the current year was being celebrated as China-India Friendship Year and the cpming year had been declared as Friendship Year for Tourism to promote tourism.

The Chinese Ambassador was accompanied by his wife Ma Hua. The Principal Secretary to Chief Minister M L Tayal and wife of Chief Minister Asha Hooda were also present in the meeting.
