Varanasi, Dec 11 (UNI) On a cursory glance it looked like any other Indian wedding, but a closer look at the Jaiswal family's marriage procession revealed it to be draped in the three colours of patriotism -- saffron, white and green.

The marriage between Rupa and Deo Kumar Jaiswal, the son of Jaiswal family, both residents of Varanasi, at a marriage lawn edging the March seven blast hit Sankatmochan temple here ended up becoming unique and inspirational. The 'Baraat' had their shoulders capped with the 'Tiranga Duppatta,' to give an unforgettable patriotic colour to the occasion.

Spanning from two-year-old Pappu to octagenerian Shankar Lal and even 'Sheru', one of the two horses driving the well-decorated 'Bagghi' carrying the groom, one and all were embelished with the tri-coloured 'Duppattas.' ''We wanted to give a truly Indian colour to the marriage and that is why we capped the entire marriage procession including the horses in the three colours forming the national flag,''gushed Deo Kumar, flanked by shy but lovely bride Rupa, in agreement with her newly found better half.

''There could not be a stronger bond than patriotism to meld our marital union forever,'' Rupa maintained.

The national colours were pervasive all through the night, whether on the dance floor or the culinary corner or the 'Vivah Mandap'.

And if that was not all, the newly-wedded Rupa after the 'Bidai' ceremony early today reached her Sasural in Kakkarmatta locality of the city to a pleasant surprise.

The entire house was painted in the same patriotic tri-colour and as she was ushered into the house the 'puja mandap' awaiting the new couple for post marriage rituals was also decorated with the fragrance of saffron, green and white flowers, which compelled the newly weds to say nothing but 'Vande Mataram and Jai Hind'.

Even the sweets which welcomed the newly weds to the Jaiswal House were coloured in patriotism.

The entire Jaiswal clan, however, esnured that none of the tricoloured Duppattas capping the 'Baraat' had the 'Chakra' engraved on it to avoid disrespect to the national flag.
