Antique 'ashthdhatu' idol recovered in Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) An antique 'ashthdhatu' idol, worth about Rs four to five crore in the international market, was recovered today and two people, including an advocate, were arrested in Old Delhi.
Khurshid Anwer alias Shadab (42) and Keasr Ali (45), an advocate in the Seelam Pur Revenue court, were arrested today from the Jama Masjid market, where they were going to finalise the deal to sell the idol.
The 12 inch 'Shani Dev' idol, weighing about 12 kg, is about 500 to 600 years old.
Police said Keasr Ali had purchased the idol from one Harish in Ghaziabad.
Harish, a property dealer in Ghaziabad had purchased the antique from a Sadhu.
