Angry residents chase away railway team in Asom
Kokrajhar, Dec 11 (UNI) Agitated residents today chased away a team of the N F Railway personnel, which had gone for an on-the-spot inspection of the site of the accident last night in which two persons were killed.
A person died on the spot and another succumbed to his injuries in the hospital last night when the truck carrying them was hit by a goods train at the unmanned railway crossing at Tengapara near Kokrajhar railway station.
A team of the N F Railways, led by an engineer of PWI section, visited the spot today.
However, angry residents chased away the inspection team.
The local people had been demanding posting of personnel at the crossing for a long time as the crossing was a frequently used one, both by foot commuters and vehicles.
The engineer later lodged a complaint with the Government Railway police.
None had been picked up yet.
