Sourav Ghosal starts squash campaign with fluent win
Doha, Dec 10 (UNI) India's Sourav Ghosal kicked off his campaign in men's singles with a fluent straight set win over Amante Armando of Macau in the squash competition of the 15th Asian Games here this evening.
Ghosal did not have to sweat much as he scripted a convincing 9-0, 9-3, 9-0 victory over Armando in a match which lasted just 20 minutes at the Khalifa International Stadium.
''It was not a hard match. I think the other guy does not have much experience in squash,'' Ghosal said after the match.
Ghosal, however, is aware that his real test begins now and the player said, ''Malaysia has some really good players and the Pakistani players are also quite tough. But I am trying to focus only on one match at a time.'' Compatriot Ritwik Bhattachary a begins his campaign against Eranga Nuwan Alwis of Sri Lanka and India's best bet in women's event Joshna Chinappa meets Korean Eun Tschan Ahn in her first match tomorrow.
