RLD slams UP govt for 'dismal' law and order

Faizabad, Dec 10: The Rahtriya Lok Dal (RLD) today held the Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh government responsible for the poor law and order situation in the state.

Interestingly, RLD is the major ally of the SP-led state government.

Expressing concern over the 'dismal' law and order situation in the state, RLD President Ajit Singh said people in the state lack the basic amenities like water and electricity, while over the years, the number of criminal activities have increased.

Mr Singh told that his party would make it an election issue in the forthcoming Vidhansabha polls.

Mr Singh reiterated ''My party will continue to maintain distances from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), while talks of having a coalition with SP and Congress or not in the 2007 Assembly polls are on.''
