Glutton Rappai passes away

Thrissur, Kerala Dec 10 (UNI) The glutton of Thrissur popularly known as ''Theeta Rappai'' died at a private hospital here.

A bachelor, Rappai (67) was admitted to the hospital a week ago due to stomach complaints.

Politicians and leaders of various socio-cultural organisations paid homage to the departed.

Thrissur Arch-bishop Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy visited Rappai's house.

Rappai had won several eating competitions in and outside Kerala.

His name had been included in the Limca Book of World Records.

Rappai could eat buckets of rice, curry and other eatables at a time.
