Dutta emphasis on marketing of culture
Itanagar, Dec 10: Nagaland Governor Shyamal Dutta has laid emphasis on marketing of culture in order to get a better exposure, besides making it dynamic and everlasting.
Inaugurating the two day Arunachal Pradesh Artiste Meet-2006 here yesterday, Mr Dutta was in full appreciation for the scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage of the state.
He said Arunachal Pradesh with its varied cultures and traditions is an unparalleled combination of culture and nature in the world and this shows unity in diversity in the state.
''The greatness of a society is reflected in the ability to assimilate culture,'' he said adding, ''to make the culture stronger and one should keep the mind and heart open to identify any influence on it.'' He also asked to let the culture grow without imposing any uniformity to make it strong.
Stating that Arunachal Pradesh, with abundant water and natural resources, would be the paradise of north east, the governor advocated for marketing of its resources and culture for further socio-cultural development.
The event, first of its kind in the state was organised by state Art and Culture department in collaboration with the North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur.
