Doctors should serve rural poor: G K Vasan
Chennai, Dec 10 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation G K Vasan said the doctors should prepare themselves to serve in the rural areas of Tamil Nadu to ensure healthcare to the rural poor.
Presenting Gold rings to 47 infants born since December eight midnight to last midnight, at Government Children Hospital, Mr Vasan appealed to the patients at the government hospitals to ensure hygene at the hospitals.
The ring presenting function was organised by the Other Backward Classes (OBC) wing of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, to commemorate the 60th birthday of Congress President Ms Sonia Gandhi.
Mr Vasan appreciated the efforts of Mr Thanigai Mani Chairman of OBC wing, TNCC in celebrating the birthday of the party chief in a novel way.
Mr Mani said all the 47 infants were from poor and down-trodden sections of the society.
