Vice President Pinned Flag Day Lapel

New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) A delegation of Services officers and ladies from the Directorate General of Resettlement and the Kendriya Sainik Board pinned the Flag Day Lapel on Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat here on the occasion of the Armed Forces Flag Day today.

The delegation, led by Kendriya Sainik Board Secretary KC Chaudhary also presented a Souvenir and a Calendar prepared by the Directorate General of Resettlement and the Kendriya Sainik Board on the occasion.

According to an official spokesperson, Vice President Shekhawat took keen interest in the various activities of the Directorate General of Resettlement for the welfare of war widows, children, disabled, blind and the ex-servicemen. He also praised their selfless service for the welfare of the society.

Since 1949, Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year on December 7 to pay homage and respect to the martyred Army personnel who had sacrificed their lives for the nation.
