Atal, Gujral to share dais at Badal's b'day rally

Moga, Dec 7: Former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Inder Kumar Gujral will share a platform at the Akali Dal-BJP poll rally here tomorrow 8 to mark the birthday of SAD supremo Parkash Singh Badal giving the war-cry 'Punjab Bachao-Congress Bhajao'' Former Union home minister L K Advani, BJP National president Rajnath Singh, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former union law minister Arun Kumar Jaitley have also confirmed their participation.

More than 7.50 lakh Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party supporters would be attending the rally 'Punjab bachao-Congress Bhajao'' (Save Punjab-Banish Congress), SAD Secretary Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said.

About 150 acres of land has been earmarked for the rally and for other purposes. A special helipad has also been established near Chuharchak village, five km from the site of the rally for the VVIPs, he said.

Bhatinda DIG Paramjit Singh Sarao, who reviewed the security arrangements for the rally told mediapersons that about 1000 police men and official will be deployed.

The DIG also stated that special traffic arrangements have been made for the rally. The entire GT road traffic would be diverted from Ludhiana to Moga and Ferozepur from Nanaksar near Jagraon to Moga via Kokari Kalan and Jalalabad.

Similarly, traffic from Ferozepur to Ludhiana will also be diverted from Moga to Jalalabad and then to Jagraon via Kokari Kalan.
