Sutra dance theatre from Malaysia presents show

Bangalore, Dec 7 (UNI) The Sutra Dance Theatre of Malaysia's premier dancer and choregrapher Ramli Ibrahim would present the 'Vision of Forever' (Odissi) which cast a spell over their audience of both domestic and International at three places including at the world-famous Belur Channakeshava Temple considered as cradle of temple architecture.

Addressing a press conference here today Poornima Jairaj, Director Amber Valley Residential School, Chickmagalur, which is bringing the Sutra Dance Theatre to Karantaka has informed newsmen that the the unique feature of the presentation of Ramli Ibrahim was that of paint on the spot during the dance performance by world family artist A V Ilango.

She said that the first damce program would be presented by Sutra Dance Theatre at the pedastal of Chennakeshava Temple Belur on 8th and followed by two other presentations for two days on 9 and 10 December at Bangalore.

She said that the Sutra Dance Theatre, under the artistic direction of Malaysia's premier dancer and choregrapher Ramli Ibrahim have cast a spell over their audience with refreshing and innovative odissi which combine contemporary sensibilities with ancient tradition. The stunning performance from the celestial dancers of the Sutra Theatre have not only won the herts from Malaysian audience but also from International which have showered Sutra Dancers with generous accolades.

Ms Poornima also informed that both A V Illango and Ramli Ibrahim were presenting their programme to the Karnataka audience for a charitable cause for the Association for the Mentally Challenged" which was engaged in the noble cause for over four decades.

Mr Ramli Ibrahim, who also spoke on the occasion has said that the 'Vision of Forever' which premiered at the prestigious Kalakshetra Hall in Chennai last year and features works of three major Odissi gurus the late Daba Prasad Das, Durga Charan Rambir and Gajendra Kumar Panda. These works have been rearranged for group composition which would be performed by multi-racial and multi-talented Malaysian trained Odissi dancers. The Sutra theatre has just returned from a successful tour of Toranto, Paris, London and Zurich and now on a pan-India tour to present in New Delhi, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Chennai, Pondicherry and Bhubneshwar.
