Sugar prices drift lower
Mumbai, Dec 7 (UNI) Sugar prices today drifted lower on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Sugar in small and medium grades declined by Rs seven and Rs eight per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.
Sugar in ex-mill small grade eased by Rs five per quintal on lack of fresh demand while medium grade went up by Rs five per quintal on lesser stock supply.
Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,660/1,710, Medium grade: Rs 1,682/1,775, Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,620/1,645, Medium grade: Rs 1,655/1,690.
