Six women arrested for involvement in prostitution

Mumbai, Dec 7 (UNI) Six women were arrested for their alleged involvement in prostitution by the city police from Gangaram Nivas, Malad in western suburbs here.

Acting on a tip-off that some women were involved in prostitution at Gangaram Nivas, police raided the spot yesterday and nabbed six women - Vidhyaben Jayant Patel (36), Asha Kahur Makaranand (40), Sanjeevani Deepak Valve (25), Rehana Rafiq Sheikh (24), Pooja Raju Sawant (20) and Jayshikh L Gohil (47), police said here today.

These women had hired a flat from one Mr Kalluram Mangaram Yadav and started prostitution business there. However, Yadav is absconding.

They have been booked under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and search is on for Yadav, police added.
