Shivaji University to confer D Litt upon Vilas Sangave

Kolhapur, Dec 6 (UNI) Shivaji University will confer Doctor of Letters (D Litt) degree upon Dr Vilas Sangave on Friday at the 43rd annual convocation.

Informing this to reporters here today, University vice-chancellor Dr Manikrao Salunkhe said Dr Sangave's selection for D Litt was unanimous, considering his valuable service and works.

Dr Sangave, a renowned editor of Rajarshi Shahu Chhatrapati papers, has done a distinctive research series in Social History and is pioneer of sociological studies of Janism as well as the architect of development sociology discipline in Shivaji University, Dr Salunkhe said.

Prof Said Irandoust, president, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand will deliver the convocation address, in which degrees, diplomas and certificates for the year will be awarded to a total of 28,161 students, he added.
