Satyam to establish 2000 seater 'GDS'

Hyderabad, Dec 07: Satyam computer services, the leading global consulting and information technology services company today announced that it would establish a software engineering Global Delivery Campus (GDC) with a seating capacity of 2000 at Cyberjava in Malaysia, about 50 km South of Kuala Lumpur.

The largest and first GDC outside India would serve as a major technological development and software support facility for Satyam's ASEAN, USA and Middle Eastern customers, a press release here said.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed today between the Multi Media Development Corporation, an agency of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovations and Satyam in the presence of Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmed Badawi.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyam Chairman Ramalinga Raju said '' Malaysia's advanced infrastructure, rich IT talent pool and competitive cost environment make it a strategic destination to establish a business presence, the release added.
