Recovery of landmine spreads panic in Belpahari
Midnapur, Dec 7 (UNI) Tension mounted in Belpahari area as police recovered a landmine on Morum Road near Betkundri Agricultural Firm early today.
Superintendent of Police, West Midnapur, R. Rajshekharan said Maoists were the primary suspects.
He said villagers detected a black wire early this morning and informed the police. A big police contingent had cordoned off the area. The bomb disposal squad in Kolkata had also been informed.
Incidentally, the newly founded Maoist Party are observing the foundation day anniversary from December 2 to 8.
