Rain plays spoilsport, tennis events deferred

Doha, Dec 7 (UNI) Sania Mirza and India's pursuit for the maiden women's tennis team title at the Asian Games will have to wait for another day as rain played spoilsport at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex here today.

The finals of the men and women teams were scheduled to be played this afternoon but heavy rain prevented the start of the finals.

After waiting for around four hours for the rain to stop, the technical committee of the tournament decided to reschedule the finals for tomorrow.

''The earlier scheduled matches will now be played on Friday,'' the tournament committee release said.

India will clash with Chinse Taipei for the Gold and title in women's team event.
