Over 39 tonne paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

Chandigarh, Dec 7 (UNI) Over 39.78 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in Haryana mandis so far.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said that out of the total paddy arrival, 28.65 lakh tonnes was leviable and 11.13 lakh tonnes basmati and other superior quality.

He said over 20.44 lakh tonnes of paddy had been procured by six government agencies at the Minimum Support Price and the remaining 19.34 lakh tonne had been purchased by the private millers and traders.

Mr Chander Mohan said that Hafed had procured 9.02 lakh tonnes of paddy, followed by Food and Supplies Department with 6.06 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro-Industries Corporation 2.43 lakh tonnes, Confed 1.77 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 1.03 lakh tonnes and Food Corporation of India with 11,092 tonnes.

He said Kurukshetra district was leading with about 7.31 lakh tonnes of paddy arrival, followed by Karnal 5.70 lakh tonnes, Kaithal 5.01 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad 4.97 lakh tonnes and Ambala 3.22 lakh tonnes.
