Notorious house-breaker held by Anand police

Anand, Dec 7 (UNI) The local crime branch of Anand arrested a notorious criminal from the Borsad chowkdi near here today.

Jayesh alias Raju Mohanbhai Patel of Lathi village in Amreli district was arrested and four mobiles worth Rs 3000 were seized from him.

Jayesh is wanted in several burglaries. He had burgled a house in Bhadran village a year ago when valuables worth Rs 2,42,000 was stolen. He is also wanted in house-breaking in Jitodiya village when he escaped with valuables worth Rs 64,000.

He was twice held under PASA and police say he had also escaped while being escorted at the Sabarmati railway station in Ahmedabad.

In all, he is said to be involved in burglaries at 54 places: 4 in Amreli district; 19 in Surat; 6 in Bhavnagar; 14 in Rajkot and 11 places in Ahmedabad.
