Normalcy returns in Khargone
Khargone, MP, Dec 7 (UNI) A tense atmosphere was created in this district headquarters following stoning between members of two communities last night but normalcy has returned.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Gupta said the situation was completely under control.
Trouble began when an argument over exploding firecrackers during 'Mahaarti' on the occasion of 'Shourya Diwas' yesterday led to stoning between two communities. Some people were injured in the incident.
Police lobbed tear gas and resorted to canecharging in order to control the mob.
Collector E Ramesh Kumar reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
Mr Kumar said the situation in the town was peaceful today.
