Srinagar, Dec 7 (UNI) Police today averted a major tragedy when they detected and defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the Srinagar-Uri highway.
Official sources said militants had planted a powerful IED on the highway at Sangrma in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla to target the vehicles of security forces and politicians.
