Kids at 'Pratham' share their dreams with Mona

Mumbai, Dec 7 (UNI) Actor Mona Singh (Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin-fame) recently received hundreds of letters from underprivileged children of an NGO 'Pratham', in reply to the actor's querry about their aspirations during her visit to the NGO.

Pratham released some children, mainly labourers and rag pickers from the Bainganwadi slums of Govandi area. They will now be placed in local schools for education. The Surf Excel 10/10 donation drive will benefit these children and the funds raised will be utilized for the next few years towards their education, a release here today said.

Mona, who visited the shelter home a few days back as part of the drive, had asked the children as to what they would like to become should they be given an opportunity for education. The children wrote back letters reflecting their aspirations, ambitions and dreams to Mona.

When asked about her surprise gift, Mona said, ''I have never received so many letters in my life. It feels wonderful to know that these little ones actually sent me letters saying what they aspired to be in life. I will go through each and every one''.

The drive aims to sponsor the education of the underserved children of Mumbai. Surf has tied up with NGO Pratham for the same.

It is through this drive, citizens of Mumbai got an opportunity to show their support for these children. With more than four lakh SMSes and more coming in each day, the city has surely shown its true spirit by helping and supporting these children, added the release.
