Puducherry, Dec 7 (UNI) The employees of the centrally administered Jipmer Hospital here today attended the duty, wearing black-badges to register their protest against the proposed introduction of the Bill to convert Jipmer into an autonomous institution in Parliament later today.

The agitation was also to criticise the police for denying them permission to observe a fast in front of the hospital.

The employees had sought permission for the fast to condemn the PMK founder leader Dr S Ramadoss for his alleged abusive remarks against the Jipmer employees.

Police, however, citing court orders, denied permission to them.
