Jammu-Srinagar highway blocked
Jammu, Dec 7 (UNI) The Jammu-Srinagar national highway remained closed on the fourth consecutive day today, due to land slides at various places between Ramban and Banihal, highway officials said.
About 400 vehicles, including passenger buses, are reportedly stranded at different places on the highway.
''The highway could not be opened for traffic because of intermittent rains that continued since Monday,'' the officials said.
The 300-km-long highway was closed for vehicular movement following landslides due to heavy rains on Monday.
''The restoration work is on at full swing but the possibility of opening the highway for vehicular movement by this evening is very less,'' officials said.
