Jamaat demands entrusting Babri Masjid case to CBI
Puducherry, Dec 7 (UNI) The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind today demanded that the Babri Masjid demolition case be handed over to the CBI.
Talking to newspersons here, president of the organisation, H Abdur Rahim and Puducherry Convenor Jalaludin said the Babri issue was not the one between the Hindus and the Muslims, but a national issue. Cases were on in the Supreme Court, Lucknow Court and some other Courts, he added.
They said instead of conducting the cases separately it should be consolidated and handed over to the CBI and after that any verdict of the court within the framework of law would be accepted by the Jamaat.
Mr Rahim, who is here to inaugurate a campaign to propagate the Muslim family values and guidelines said there was a wrong notion among the people on the Muslim family set up.
People think that a Muslim could remarry anytime after saying ''Talaak'' to his wife which is absolutely wrong, he said and added that saying 'talaak'has its own formalities and was difficult.
In order to remove the misunderstanding about the Muslim family set up from the minds of the people, the Jamaat was undertaking a ten- day long campaign in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from December one to December 10 in which the values and guidelines of a Muslim family set up would be propagated, they added.
