HC restores writ petition

Kochi, Dec 7 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today restored a writ petition seeking a CBI investigation into the alleged largescale tax evasion and malpractice by lottery agents from other states.

A bench of Chief Justice V K Bali and Justice P R Raman restored the petition filed by advocate Russel Joy of Ernakulam and directed the state to file a counter reply.

The writ petition was earlier closed by the high court stating the reason that similar matter was pending before the Supreme court.

The petitioner now contended that the matters pending before the Supreme court was not connected with ths present writ petition.
