HC notice to UP govt over Vikas' bail plea
New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government to reply by December 18 over bail application filed by accused Vikas Yadav in the Nitish Katara murder case.
Arguing for Vikas Yadav, senior counsel Dinesh Mathur submitted to Justice A K Sikri that the bail petition could be considered afresh now that his sister Bharti Yadav had deposed in the case.
The prosecution has been opposed to his bail, arguing that once bail was granted, his sister Bharti would not depose.
The deposition has apparently knocked the prosecution's bottom out of the case, he argued, further asking for treatment at par with Vishal Yadav, already out on bail.
Vishal is Vikas' cousin and accomplice in the same case.
