Kolkata, Dec 7 (UNI) The All India Forward Bloc today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to refrain from visiting the Renkoji Temple in Tokyo, where the 'ashes' of Netaji have been kept, during his proposed visit to Japan.

In a statement, party General Secretary Debabrata Biswas said the Mukherjee Commission, that probed the mysterious disappearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, had "proved" that he had not died in a plane crash.

" As there was no plane crash, the ashes kept in the Renkoji temple are not that of Netaji, " he said.

During the discussions in Parliament on Mukherjee Commission report, all political parties opposed the Governmednt's rejection of the report and its Action Taken Report, Mr Biswas said observing that reflected the sentiment of the people.

" If the Prime Minister visits the Renkoji temple and tries to hand over the ashes to anybody, it will hurt the sentiment of the people and it will be a challenge to the patriotic people of our country, " he said demanding that the Government also stop all financial assistance to Renkoji temple authorities.

The party had decided to observe Netaji's birthday on January 23 as 'Desh Prem Divas' and organise Netaji Chetna Yatras across the country from December 31 to January 23 demanding the Government to accept the Mukherjee Commission report.
