Farmers Association to agitate from Dec 19

Vijayawada, Dec 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Temple and Endowments Lease Farmers Association (affiliated to All India Kisan Sabha) has decided to organise continuous agitation at Indira Park near Hyderabad Assembly from December 19.

Addressing a press conference here AIKS Vice-President Kolli Nageswara Rao and Lease Farmers Association General Secretary K V V Prasad demanded that the G O relating to waive the lease amount to the lease farmers who lost their crops in floods and drought should be released. Their demand also included implementation of agreement between the lease farmers and Endowments Ministry in this matter and to make amendment in the Act and G O.

The farmer leaders demanded that if the farmer was owning more than five and a half acre land, the government should auction that land to lease and if the lease were farmers died or old aged that land should be changed to his kids name. The lease rate should be fixed after fifty per cent of the crop produced, they added.

Lease amount should be waived off if the crops were damaged due to floods and droughts, they added.
