Dr Malik invited as technical officer for Doha Asian games

Chandigarh, Dec 7 (UNI) Asian Wrestling senior vice-president Dr M S Malik has been invited to Doha as technical officer to ensure smooth conduct of Asian wrestling in the ongoing Asian Games at Doha.

The wrestling competition will commence from December 8 and Dr Malik has also been asked to attend the technical meeting on the same day at Doha.

Dr Malik and Mr Sukhvir Singh is a first class qualified wrestling umpire who has also been invited to umpire the wrestling competitions.

Before leaving for Doha, Dr Malik said all India wrestlers were subjected to dope test prior to their departure. He hoped the Indian wrestlers will bag maximum medals in the Asian Games.

Free style team: chief coach Jagminder Singh, foreign coach from Gorgia, Br Mestvil Shivly lead by Palwinder Cheema 120 kg Punjab, Jogeshwar Dutt, 60 kg, Sushil Kumar 66 kg (Delhi), Anju Chaudhary 84 kg (UP), Narinder Singh 96 kg (Delhi), Nar Singh Yadav 74 kg (Pune), Vinod 55 kg (Delhi).

Women team: Neha Rathi, 48 kg, Geetika Jakhar 63 kg (Haryana) already Asian champion, Sonika Kaliraman 72 kg MTNL D/O Master Chandgi Ram, Alka Tomar 79 kg UP and Coach Jhabbar Singh.

Greeco Romam team: Coach Gian Prakash (RLY), Nayak Dhalvi 58 kg, (SSCB), Ravinder Singh (Dhela) 60kg Haryana, B S Patel 66kg (SSCB), Sanjay 74 kg (RAJ), Manoj Kumar 84 kg (Services), Anil Kumar 96 KG (CISF) and Dharmender Dalal 120 KG Harayana.
