Delhi Govt to construct multi purpose housing societies
New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) The Delhi Government will construct multi purpose housing societies under the Resettlement Scheme to rehabilitate people living in slums and JJ colonies in the national capital, Development Minister Rajkumar Chauhan announced today.
''The scheme is a positive step for the settlement of 15,000 people living in 41 slums and JJ colonies,'' Mr Chauhan told reporters after a meeting on the resettlement issue.
He said four societies had already been registered and the process was in progress for the others.
''The societies will be registered on special basis. Every society will 30 members,'' he added.
The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation will construct the societies, which will have 150 to 200 flats.
