Dalit agitators set on fire a state transport bus in Nanded
Nanded, Dec 7 (UNI) Dalit activists have allegedly set on fire a State Transport Bus on the Mudkhed-Bhokar road about 25 km from here this afternoon, police said.
A group of about 20 dalit activists, protesting against the recent descratation of a statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in Kanpur, have allegedly set on fire the bus after forcing the driver and conductor of the bus to leave the bus along with its passengers.
Fire Brigade engines rushed from Nanded put the blaze under control, police said adding that an offence has been registered against the unidentified persons with the Mudkhed Police station in connection with the incident.
