CSL completes second major export order

Kochi, Dec 7 (UNI) Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) crossed another milestone when it delivered the ninth and last fire-fighting tug for the Jedddah Port Authority of Saudi Arabia.

According to an officials release here today, with this, the second major export order signed by CSL for the construction of nine fire-fighting tugs were completed and delivered successfully.

The order for the nine tugs were signed in June 2003 and all the vessels were delivered as per the contractual schedule and are performing well to the full satisfaction of the owners, the release added.

Presently the yard is constructing four 30000 DWT Bulk Carriers for Clipper of Bahamas and 14 Platform Supply ships for Norwegian owners.

The yard was also entrusted with the construction of the first indigenous Aircraft carrier for the Indian Navy, the release said.
